1. What kind of blocks do I need?

2. How many blocks do I need to setup my trailer?

Answer: Every trailer set up is different depending on the terrain of the site. We typically tell our customers for twelve wide trailers you should start with 50  8x8x16 hollow core blocks and 30 4x8x16  solid blocks. Blocks are placed at 5 locations each side under the frame rails in a double blocked pattern with the solid blocks being placed first on the ground.

For travel trailer set up typically three rows on each side are placed under the trailer. These blocks are placed in a single stack with a solid block being placed on the ground first (Fig. 3).  If the total height of the block stack reaches three blocks high then a double block pattern should be used (Fig. 4). This requires substantially more blocks. To be on the safe side typically we like to start with 20 8x8x16 hollow core blocks, 20 4x8x16 solid blocks. More blocks may be needed for off level sites.

Please have the appropriate blocks ready for delivery. Left over blocks can always be returned to the place of purchase or used to provide support for decks, sheds, or can be used to build a fireplace to enjoy your new purchase after a long day of moving in.

3. Do I need to have a NH safety inspection sticker for my trailer?

Answer: Yes, any trailer with a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of 3,000 lbs. or more will need to have a NH safety inspection sticker issued for the New Hampshire registered vehicle. The expiration date issued will be the month of June for all recreational vehicles including motor homes regardless of the birth month and expiration of the registration.

4. Will I receive a 20-day plate with my purchase?

Answer: Yes, A NH twenty-day plate will be issued to qualifying vehicles. They will be issued on the date of your purchase. If you plan on picking up your purchase later than twenty days from the date of purchase you will be required to register your vehicle and bring the plates with you on the day of your pick up. Massachusetts’s residents will need to register their vehicles prior to all pick-ups regardless of the twenty-day NH rule.

5. Why does water drip from my water heater's pressure relief and temperature valve?

Answer: You may experience water weeping or dripping from your water heater's pressure and temperature (P&T) relief valve when your water heater is operating. Water weeping or dripping does not mean that the P&T valve is defective. As water is heated, it expands. The water system in a recreational vehicle is a closed system and does not allow for the expansion of heated water. When the pressure of the water system exceeds the relieving point of the P&T valve, the vale will relieve the excess pressure.

One way to reduce the frequency of this occurrence is to maintain an air pocket at the top of the water heater tank. This air pocket will form in the tank by design - however, it will be reduced over time by the everyday use of your water heater. To replenish this air pocket:

  1. Turn off the water heater.

  2. Turn off the cold water supply line.

  3. Open a faucet in the RV.

  4. Pull out the handle of the pressure relief (P&T) valve and allow water to flow from the valve until it stops.

  5. Release the handle on the P&T valve - it should snap closed.

  6. Close the faucet and turn on the cold water supply. As the tank fills, the air pocket will develop. Repeat this procedure as often as needed to reduce the frequency of the weeping P&T valve. If the weeping persists after following this procedure, you may elect to have your dealer install an expansion or accumulator tank in the cold water line between the tank and check valve to relieve the pressure caused by thermal expansion.
